Personally I would just go in for the move but not for the kill just yet. As seeing she just broken up with her bf give her some time but not from you too. At the same time be next to her and make her feel comfortable around you and that you will always be there for her. Once you earned her trust thats when you should start making moves but dont make em all at once. Start off by talking to her then haning out together and such. You will kno by her response towards you. Remember, if you wait, someone else will make the move so dont let it go that easy. Make sure she knows you will always be there in a good way.

Good luck bro.

Maybe she'll need some time to get over this guy... And we'll never know when. Sometimes the girl herself may not even know if she has gotten over the guy. At the meantime, try to be her good friend, allow her to share her hurts and feelings and listen to her... You can help her recover from the break up, and she'll really appreciate you for that

Of course, i'm by no means saying that you should take advantage of her break up situation to get emotionally closer to her. What i'm saying is just... I believe you genuinely like this girl and would like to see her in better shape. Wish you all the best! When the time is right, when you think she shows keen interest in you (watch the body language, it speaks volume!), ask her out.

I think in the search of love - there are no time restraints. Its a matter of respect only. Try to make your feelings known by asking how she is doing since her break-up? Tell her that you are sorry about her break-up, but that you have had thoughts about asking her out and you were wondering if it is too soon or is she receptive to dating now? Honesty is always the best policy. Be open and honest and confident. You must convey a sense of confidence or else she will be thoroughly unimpressed. Yes she may have liked that other guy, but she will like me even more! Don't say that to her - just feel it inside. Be confident and honest. She will take notice. Good luck!

Don't make the moves on her right now, just be her friend and she will see what a sweet guy you are. Give her time to heal from her broken heart.

Depends on how good of friends u already are. It would be bad if u have already crossed the good friends line. Also judge how long they were together and how upset she seems now. If she was really in love and u two end up dating it may never be serious for her b/c u may just be the rebound guy.

Make your move. If you want her go after her. The time is now.

It depends on how long this girl was connected to her ex-boyfriend, what they had in common with each other (for example, were they intimate?), and her general temperament.
How did you find out they had split? If she told you herself, you could start to be there for her immediately as a friend. If you heard it from someone else, approach more cautiously. Best wishes.

There is no perfect answer. Do read the other answers. However, be mindful that some other well meaning guy could decide before you that NOW IS THE TIME.
