To my knowledge anyway. Why don't people of other religions try to convert Christians, or insist that they're religion is best the way some Christians do?

Because it's supposed to be a good christian's duty to evangelicize and to convert the heathens and the ignorant to the word of Christ.

Though, sometimes you'd wish they'd try it at some other time besides 6:00am saturday morning.

Im not sure if Islam has something similar, but in the past it was more of a convert or die or be taxed thing. Most other religons have no want or need to spread their culture to others.

Actually .... the spread of the Muslim religion was brought about from converting the heathens in the early 5th and 6th century with force. convert or die .. but recently its been the christian religion that has in its doctrine that "they" referring to Christians, have an obligation to bring the word to others and that by not doing so they will be judged for that. This is evident in the wording of the bible and other doctrines of the christian world. i.e. being that we are all brothers and sisters, and being a brothers keeper, and that salvation is attained by doing good work for others ..which could loosely be translated to trying to convert them .. ....

In all Christian countries, you can 'see' the buildings of the Worship-places of other religions: Islam, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist et al. Other religions do have missionary work. Their 'ways' are dissimilar to Christians. Even Rome has a new mosque now, also in Spain which remained Muslim-free land for centuries. I repeat:Their way is not at all similar to Christians'.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

"Say (O Muhammad salla-Allaahu `alayhi wa sallam): "Truly, my Lord has guided me to a Straight Path, a right religion, the religion of Ibraaheem (Abraham), Haneefa [i.e. the true Islaamic Monotheism - to believe in One God (Allaah i.e. to worship none but Allaah, Alone)] and he was not of Al-Mushrikoon (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah, idolaters, polytheists, pagans, etc.)."" [Al-Qur'aan, 6:161]

"... All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood.... O People! No Prophet or Apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People! And understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, Al-Qur'aan and my Sunnah (i.e., sayings, deeds, and approvals) and if you follow these you will never go astray..." [Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon]

Islam tries really hard for conversions, too, from what I've seen.

I know that my religion believes that many paths can lead towards truth and goodness. We also just don't want anyone mouthing the belief; who would want someone to say that they're of your religion while doing things that are completely opposite it. A good example is a man in Australia who imprisoned two girls, raped and prostituted them. He claimed that it was part of his religion, and then he said he was Wiccan, and that was his reason for doing it. I'm here to tell you that Wicca is NOT about enslaving others for any reason; our ultimate law is "And it harm NONE (not even yourself), do what you will." That means that he couldn't be a true Wiccan if he hurt those girls. I don't want him claiming that he is.

Why do only Christians actively try to spread their religion?

mainly because they are misguided, religion and hatre of other religion has alway been exploited by politiczal leaders to control the masses. the truth is jesus spoke armenean, so by all mean he was probably an arab palestinian converted to judaism..

in fact the palestinian people of today are probably the descendants
of jewish people whom converted to islam. thus the actual israeli-palestinian conflict is by all mean a fraticide,,

You're kidding right? There's a segment of Muslims who will literally slay people like a goat because they're not the right kind of Muslim.

Christianity is a positive religion, one that gives people energy and confidence in their lives. That, coupled with encouragement to 'spread the news' gives believers reason to encourage others to join them in their faith.

Because they are stupid and their religion is based on hoax. They are afraid the rest will find out, so they want to make everyone part of their fraud.

We can't even get the facts correct about something that happened 100 years ago... how do we know that Jesus even existed 2000 years ago?

It is a fable and myth!

It is part of Christianity to spread the word. To share the good news of the gospel of Christ. Peace.
