One thing to do is to wear cotton socks if you wear socks in hot weather. Another thing you can do is to make sure that all of your footwear is made of leather and not man made materials. Leather breathes and absorbes sweat. Plastic doesn't and moisture builds up in the footwear, giving bacteria a great place to proliferate in.

Bottomline: keep your feet dry!
So:
try to wear sandals or open shoes
or odor absorbing socks
try wool or nylon (polypropylene is the best)
swap your shoes every day, so they can dry out
talcum powder on your feet and between toes
avoid man-made material for shoes... stick with leather.
