I am a baptist christian, i have been baptisted twice, onces at birth, and once of my own choosing, and hope to be baptisted once more on my death bed. But i look out at fellow christians, and they are so hateful and spiteful of those who have not taken the same path as them. Just because someone has not accepted jesus into their lifes does not mean they should be abused, verbally or otherwise. And don't say it doesn't happen because it happens on this very site. Why can't a majority of christians be more accepting than rejecting? the girl i love, was afriad to tell me she was a wiccan because of how she has suffered at the hands of christians, she is a kind girl who didn't deserve that. Why must we as christians harm those around us just because of their faith? Do you all commend the crusades, a bloody war fought over land that could have easily been shared? Why do you hate people who are not like you? Why are people terrifed of Christian abuse now? What has happened to us, and why?

As an answer to a few of ur questions she never told me about her religion until we were in love, because she was scared that i would hate her, it was hard to deal with at first but i love her, not her religion

well when i was batisted at birth it didn't count unless i had died, and since that isn't the case i made the choice to get baptisted again, that's only once that counts. It has been a suggestion to get baptisted for a second time on your death bed, why, idk, but it makes a lot of sense in a way. But im nowhere near death so ive only been baptisted once

answering the "i am not perfect" statement, no, what i mean is i attempt not to bash people because of their religion, but sometimes it still happens, not recently actually, but in the past i was greatly infulenced by my christian friends to not even talk to people who were of a different religon, but it seemed to be the equal to racism, and i couldn't do that so i became more accepting of people in general.

AMEN. i feel exactly the same way. i dont understand how ppl that profess to love god can be so horrid to those who choose to live differently than they do. especially since jesus taught us to love our enemies, to always turn the other cheek, and that judging others was for god to do, not for us to do to each other. i wish you and your wiccan girlfriend the best of luck. its a shame more ppl dont think like you an i do about this subject.

Sometimes you have to define the Christian - just as the crusades were not about religion but about politics and power many christians are about a religion not Jesus Christ - and if you read the scriptures you will not find that Jesus needed many baptisms but only one that unified him with a church of local believers - now I'm not condemning you, I'm just saying that there is a true Chrisitan and there is a religious Christian and Wiccan is not a christian in any form or fashion, sorry but even Jesus says they are of the devil. She may be kind, but she needs Christ Jesus, not Wiccans. I would be curious to know what kind of Baptist you are that would believe that 3 baptisms are necessary or desirable - there are 75 types of baptists - I grew up one kind until I realized the only thing I wanted to be was in a relationship with Jesus Christ that was personal and from the King James Version of the Bible. Once that happened I became an Indpendent/Missionary Baptist as far as church fellowship goes. I've encountered very few who do not read and follow the Word of God as anything less than what God intended them to be. But ultimately having two southern preacher's in the family, I had to rely on the Holy spirit to lead my in my learning. Came to found out my Daddy believes a lot of the ways I do, but because there's not really a denomination for true believers he felt the Southern Baptist held the closest for him and Moma. They're much too political and when they went to perversions of God's Word - I dropped them. And if people are terrified of the "abuse" a true Christian might put out what are they going to do when they stand before God Almight on judgment day? Now, that's one I'd be more terrified of than any man or woman that can only speak what the Holy Spirit gives them to say - he has control over a person's eternity!

I understand what you mean. And I too sometimes, when I'm impatient, come across as judgemental and then I regret it. I also get angry and aggressive because a lot of people today are doing the same thing with bigotry against Christians and mockery of the Bible, but two wrongs don't make a right. We need to learn the difference between hating the sin and hating the sinner and discipline and teach right from wrong without judging the person as a whole. I never intend to do that but sometimes I do, sometimes I just like to complain. And it's people in authority's job to discipline, not everyone. I think often times people like to feel better about themselves by belittling other people for their sins without focusing on our own which is ironically unchristian but as the guy said above, we're all sinners. Being aggressive only pushes people away from the church. I admire people who can teach ethics and get the point across without offending.

Paul said in 1Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER and so do many scriptures tell us to stay away from those that are unsaved. We are to be a witness to them and for them, not their hangout buddy. Jesus sought people who needed and wanted to change and turn toward God. Are Jesus and Satan Homeboys? Then you, being a Christian, should you be yoked with those who practice witchcraft and other evils. Light and darkness can not dwell together and a friend of the world is an enemy to God. By the way, Why are you being baptized so much are you not sure it worked the second time(only one that counted). Jesus only got baptized once why are you doing it 2 and 3 times.
A very concerned Pastor

Wait a second...what did you say about the girl you love? The Bible says to not be un-equally yoked! Read it, it's in 2 Corinthians 6:14. That means that you shouldn't build intimate relationships with non-believers... why? because it brings about gnosticism my friend, that's why. God wants you to follow His word. Show then tell. Set a good example first for people to follow, become a leader for Christ, but do not judge. Remember just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn't make them one. They have to have Jesus in their hearts. In order for you to be true to the faith you must realize that the Bible is Absolute Truth. I can't say it enough, things aren't relative, or the common phrase that is used the most is "whatever feels right to you." This is a standard we must live by, and the Bible says that even non-believers will be judged by the Bible too one day. So when you see Christians and Non-Christians shunning one another tell them to read the Bible and follow it. "Love your neighbor."

-Ah yes about the baptizing thing... ask yourself, how many times was Jesus baptized? Only once!!!

Because I love and follow the Lord does not make me a perfect, infallible person. I have a sin nature just like everyone else and I give in to it more often than I would like to admit. I'm allowed to have a bad day aren't I? Or even a few bad days in a row, or a month or a year. The point is, none of us is perfect, and you should not judge us as such.

God isn't in therapy or pointing at me saying "Oops, where was my head that day? Boy I sure goofed with her." Nope. On the contrary, He loves me in spite of myself.

It is unfair for you to make a generalization like that. By the way, when you are in public and you see someone acting in an ungodly manner, how do you identify them as a Christian acting in an ungodly manner?

Because in this world, there is always true believer or none true believer or even half believer...Even two computer system equipped with same processor BUT comes with different configuration will not run at same performance...Then same thing apply to people in one religion, some are good and some are weak and some are even bad.

The Bible do tell us, don't look at man...because human are not something too good for us to compare, as you will surely disappointed OR sometime even ourselves also have so many weaknesses, so we can't complain too much, except you never look at the mirror, THEN you will know why this world is so like that!

Most of the answers i have read about this question are exactly the same, some one saying some thing about being one and all loving each other. That's not wrong to feel that way, but we should real be asking are the people that prosecute other Christans RELAY CHRISTANS!! I don't need to resite a quote for you to know how to treat others, what needs to be done is to realize that maybe those that prosecute are not relay true followers of their faith.

"...as a christian i try to do whats right and be nice but no ones perfect"...?

What the heck is THAT statement about? Are you saying that you "try to be nice" but can't because verbally abusing people who don't believe as you do is so easy and so much more fun!?
