Well if it is hard for them to love you, then they don't in a romantic way, at least not at this time. Give them space and see if this person comes around and if they are not using you for whatever reason. It is OK to talk to them but do not be their rebound because you could get hurt. Just don't be the fool in love.

All you need to do is be patient. If you really love this person how you say you do, then give them time and show them how important they are to you. Sometimes when people get hurt, it is very hard for them to trust again, but with patience, love, and understanding you will eventually win that person's heart. They will eventually realize that you truly love them and that you are different from that person who hurt them. Good Luck!

The best advice for that situation is to give him or her time - nothing else will help. Its hard for someone to get over the hurt of previous relationships - i know, its been almost a year and a half and ive only just truly gotten over my ex - but just be there for them, give them time, and they will realize that they do truly love you

Take it nice and slow, don't pressure them. Don't ask them if they truly love you let them say it first. You will know without them telling you by their action. This is very difficult for them to trust their heart with someone again they might still need some closure. All you have to do is concentrate on loving them, they'll figure out the rest.

There's not a lot you can do. Some people just can't let go of the past and see what they have right in front of them. If they do it's usually to late. You may love them, but you don't want to stay in a relationship that can't offer any more then this. Why be unsatisfied with someone that can't love you the same.

Its really hard, because i'm in that same position and have been for 6 years now, and you know what, my husband still doesn't trust me that i will always be here for him and that i will never *** him over. His ex b*tch, slept with his own nephew, and never told him, and his stupid a** nephew never told him either, until the day he asked her to marry him. They waited 5 years, to tell him that she was a hoe, and it really broke his heart, i really know how he feels, and i understand if he doesn't trust me completely, but i still really love him so much, and i hope he would never put me through that kind of pain.

Hard one!!! Only time can help... along with a good relationship and honesty. If someone else hurt that person... it would be easy enough with love.... but if it was you who hurt that person... you will have to be straight with yourself in order to be straight with that person.

Love is something you give, an action they weren't shown the last time around

Give them plenty of reason why they could be safe and happy with you :)
