Darn. I was gonna say something that might be funny in another context. Sorry, it is not really a funny subject. It seems that nobody else took the question seriously or read it first.
No, not schitzophrenia, but my dad has epilepsy and other problems that make him almost seem like it at times. Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope that your doctors come up with a good combination of meds and treatment that will help you cope in a normal way.
I also want to apologize to anyone else who may have been offended.

You guys are all bastards. Multiple personalities is a common misconception associated with schizophrenia. Thank you Me, Myself, and Irene. I do suffer from schizophrenia and I wouldn't wish it on anybody except maybe the bastards who previously answered. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia 3 years ago and it has been a long struggle. But life has gotten better and I wish the same for you, whoever you are. BTW don't let people call you schizophrenic it implies that you ARE your disease when in fact schizophrenia is just a small part of your personality. You are much more than your illness, it does NOT define you.

Kypria...you are not alone. I was diagnosed in 1997. My Axis I is Schizoaffective disorder a hybrid illness containing the massive mood swings of manic depression and the voices and abject paranoia of shizophrenia. My Axis II is Borderline Personality Disorder..
Every joke about my having dual personalities and all that stuff is fuel. I am the bessemer converter...those cracks are pig iron...and part of the package that goes with recovering from this entails turning emotional blindness like that which you see being exhibited here...and turning it into steel for my backbone.
I wish you courage under fire...grace under pressure...tranquility in the eye of the storm. As the young man said quite eloquently...I have a disease...I am not the disease. And a day at a time...a moment at a time...a heartbeat at a time...I restore myself to sanity.
Peace and blessings be upon you and yours.

its amazing how this person asked a legitimate question and the only think the majority of the people on here seem capable of doing is to make fun of the people who have the disease in question. nice going people. way to be insensitive.

Not SchizoBone...(AIM screen name!)

Also, being schizophrenic does NOT mean having multiple personalities...common misconception.
