Think of the Internet as a huge behemoth metropolis of people--witch it "virtually" is exactly that. In any such huge city or society, you're always going to have A FEW ( OK.....many ) emotionally or mentally unstable, immature and/or insecure people.
As you well know: they aren't hard to peg out. And instead of getting to the core reason they are who they are, merely blank them out of your chat room view or totally ignore them completely....and feel sorry a bit for those pitiful fools engaging them in their attention-getting tirades.

it is so you can ask that question and they want to test someone's quick response capability, attention, and psycological triggering of questions, it is a good strategy so someone will be curious with that type of personality
