I've seen some Christians say some stuff that has been a bit shocking about none believers. I don't get it. I mean true some Athiests say some nasty stuff to which isn't right. How come people can't accept each other beliefs and none beliefs? I think it's good to ask questions but not to be unnecessarily nasty. But I do wonder if some Christian really don't like none believers? I was wondering actually if some Christians r taught that the none believers r bad or something. I remember when I was in Sunday school and they were telling stories from the Bible about none believers and making them out to be bad. I could be wrong though coz I was quite young. I hope no one find this question offensive.

Bless you, child, if I knew the answer to this question I could change the world. Unfortunately I don't. Religion isn't static. It has to change and flow with what's around it. Some people DO hate those who disagree or differ from their own faith. They will kill and denigrate them as much as possible. There's no difference in a Muslim fanatic than there is with a Christian fanatic. They're each hiding behind the Name of the Divine while they hate. A very good question!

I don't find this question offensive. It's exactly the opposite. I know there are some Christians out there who hate (or seem to hate) non-believers, and there are some non-believers who hate Christians. But what I don't understand is why they feel they need to hate each other. I think people should have the right to have their own beliefs and not be judged by others who have different beliefs. If anyone finds your question offensive, they must be crazy. I've seen so many questions posted on this site that are far more offensive than this one. I'm just glad to see that there is at least one person here who shares my opinion. :)

It certainly seems that way at times. As a non-Christian (which I far prefer to be called, as I have very strong beliefs in my own religion), I have been called some very impolite things by people whom I believe truly meant what they said. I've had people tell me that I'm going to hell and they're glad because they wouldn't want to share heaven with someone like me. No worries there, as I'll be going to the Summerlands to await being reborn! I've heard people whom I know are educated in other beliefs say that everyone who isn't Christian is evil, Satanic and not to be trusted. I think my own father thinks this way.

It's very disheartening. It also breeds distrust, dislike and disrespect from others towards all Christians, which is sad, because there are nice Christians, too, who don't try to push their religion on you or call you evil, just accept who you are and that you believe differently. I like them. I think that there is a phrase that applies to all Christians. "May you get exactly what you deserve." If you're mean-spirited, well, let's hope that you're not if that phrase actually works as a curse/blessing.

When I was in school we were taught that people who are not Catholic are "beneath us." I always questioned that because I did not understand especially when we are told to love everyone. Since then, I've researched and visited in various denominations and all of them have some version of "non-believers are evil or bad or wrong." The part I don't understand is if a person is of strong mind and faith, how can anyone (of another denomination or an atheist) convert them or harm them. It seems to imply that we can't think for ourselves and others can easily influence us. Or, why else would they work so hard at demonizing people who don't believe or believe something different?

If they truly hate someone just because they are a 'non-beleiver' than they are being judgemental. Jesus said
Matthew 7:3-5, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.”

If they are judging people, they are not really listening to the message of Christ! I dont hate any non-beleiver. Most of my friends are athiests. I myself was a non-beleiver for so long. Jesus taught us not to judge.

I guess it goes the same way, Why do so many athiests hate Christians? I understand they may of had a 'bad experience' with some pushy Christian before, but people hate me right away because of my beleifs.

Some Christians, not all, but many of them are very elitiest about their faith, They believe that being Christain gives them the right to look down on others with different philosophies. They think that Jesus has called for them and everyone else is dirt. Look at Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell. Anne Coulter is a good example too. These Christians would rather kill a non Christian than look at them.

They're might be some out there..but I don't see them. I think most are just defensive when it comes to God..so when someone doesn't believe its difficult. For me when a person I know closely isn't a believer I feel hurt, but when someone I don't know well isn't a believer if differs. Some people like to argue and sometimes I get really mad at that because sometimes I just don't like defending. I think many Christians are taught to be careful who you hang around because the wrong person could bring them down. Maybe from there the human part of us creates a dislike or hate.

there is a HUGE difference between hate/intolerance and not agreeing or accepting their point of views.

If they just bash a non believer like the atheist bash Christians, then I would probably say they are more along the likenesses of a pseudo christian. There are more pseudo Christians in Church then real ones. Most all Pastors and leaders of churches are real Christians, but you do get some pseudo Christians there too..

No artic vixen, I do not hate nonbelievers at all...because I used to be a nonbeliever...I actually used to be into witchcraft and the left handed path until JESUS CHRIST intervened in my life. I may come across as brash and hard at times, and if so, I ask forgiveness. The thing is, play time is over and we either get it right or get left in the lake of fire...I dont want to see anyone in that place personally, and its the truth thats gonna give the chance to escape that lake.

GOD BLESS YOU.

If people are truly Christians, then they don't hate noone! They may not like what they see or hear, but they do not hate! God says to love one another, and that is what a true Christian does, but that doesn't mean that they have to like. A Christian should pray about things that they see or hear that they don't like.
