I probably should have given more info - we've been together for about 2 months now, so it is a new relationship. He told me he does want to take it slow cos he got f*cked around in his last relationship

How long have you been dating? You have to date for a while before you can feel true love. He may care about you very much and knows in his heart that he is not sure if you are the one yet or not but he definitely wants to try and see where things goes.

Maybe he just likes you but needs to know you more. You could be in love with someone (like their body or personality) and then you can really be in love (you love them for who they are and stuff). So he was probably saying he likes you and will probably love you but doesnt know that he does yet. Sorry if this is confusing...

He loves you but not that deeply yet. Being in love with somebody is something serious w/c could lead to a commitment, while loving somebody is something more general and could be a step up "liking".

he loves you but not enough to get involved. give him some more time.may be he has not made up his mind or something is holing him back.find out what it is. if u have given him enough time already & still he has doubts, leave him. a man who cannot make up his mind regarding his love is not worth waiting for.if u have any doubt in his love leave him immediately before it starts hurting u.

okay, he said he loves you, which means i really care about you and wouldn't do anything to hurt you. and he said i'm not in love with you, which means i'm not exactly happy with you but i'm just with you because i haven't met the one for me, and i'm used to being around you, and i don't know how to leave you without hurting you, and i'm scare of all the difference when we're not together anymore. This is from my point of not being in love with my husband.

I think bipartyguy84 has the right Idea! If you have been going out for a long time and then gives you that line, maybe you should move on...

There is a difference in loving someone and being in love with them. You love your parents, right? But that doesn't mean that you are in love with them, right? I think he does love you.

Haha, he f**ked up. He gave you the wrong answer. No, he probably doesn't love you. I don't know the details of your relationship but it doesn't sound like it.

i think that loving you is far more longer lasting than being 'in love'
the hormonal glow of 'in love' fades all too often but loving someone is far more permanent

It sounds like he is playing you...or he loves you like a friend. semantics-playing with words usually has a meaning.
