Its said that the onlything constant in this world is change. DO you think the scriptures written thousands of years back has any relevance now? There in a mention of so many Gods in our history but no God or Godman appeared after Jesus, can we assume that scientific thinking and religious thinking do not co exist?

The ten commandants are something which are more of a common sense and you will find that in th elaw book of every country. Any sensible man will preach that- whats so special?

Understood - Yes, Followed - NO
We need an understanding of religious thoughts so that we can relate them in our own experiences

I think a belief in God is a personal choice. But I definitely think that religious teachings can be worth following. In the Bible, you find the 10 commandments. Some commandments that are especially worth paying attention to are these:
"Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal."
Exodus 20:13-15
Can you imagine how much more peaceful the world would be if everybody followed these words alone? It speaks of treating people with respect.
There are so many religions and scriptures that teach people to love (not just Christian religions and Christian scriptures). Anything that makes this world a better place is a good thing. To me, this makes the scriptures especially relevant in today's culture. Society could use more love and less hate.

Religious teaching is necessary to learn more about what makes people do the things that they do. Islamic extremists for example.
The ancient texts are only revelant in what they teach us about what people considered important in those times.
Science and religion have never co-existed. Probably never will.

Matt 5:17. Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.*
5:18. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.*
5:19. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
