I believe Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit is the only unforgiveable sin. Aside from that, there may be a more horrible sin than another eg. Murder is more horrible than getting drunk. But all sin sepperates you from God and all can be forgiven, just the reprocussions they bring about are worse than others.

While sin is still sin in God's eyes - yes there are varying degrees of sin.., the worst ones being causing believers to stumble, sexual sins which are against the body, apostate teachers who teach something else than what they received and of course Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.., all of which are mentioned as having steep penalties.

Other such sins are mentioned in the Bible but only two are spelled out with penalty - Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit gets one no forgiveness - and another sin whereby I believe it was that those who did not do as they knew to do would be beaten with many stripes - Paul also mentioned that during testing and trials some who failed to do right would be saved but barely as like narrowly escaping a fire.

In the verse you are talking about the greater sin is unbelief, and Jesus is talking about those who had unbelief, and wanted him crucified. But of the sins of the ten commandments, none are greater or lesser. Sin is sin. They are like a chain of ten links. If one link is broken, then the whole chain is no good. But praise Jesus, He fulfilled those commandments. And then He gave us two commands, that would help us to accomplish the ten commandments. And both of those were love. Love for God and love for people. When we can obey these two commands, then we can fulfill the ten commandments also, but not perfectly. Only Jesus did that. As far as the other question, I believe that James is trying to get the point across, that when we have true faith, we cannot help but do good works. Example ---If a person says he has faith, and then turns his back on someone who is hungry, thirsty, needy, etc., then his faith is of no value. Works will not be the reason we go to heaven, but works shows our faith, that will get us to heaven.

I think God cares foremost about people. Any oppression, alienation, apathy, or persecution towards anyone would be of great distress to the Lord.

However, I don't think that anyone is more of a sinner than anyone else. Jesus definitely taught that everyone is equal. We're all humans. Therefore, I have sinned in everyway possible it is to sin. I believe, in a way, we all have.

It is NOT up to us to gauge someone's sinfulness. Woe to those who do.

What's the greater sin? Homosexuality? Or treating people differently because they're homosexual?

Jesus' harshest words were for the Pharisees.

God Bless. Love Wins.

No sin is greater than another sin. Sin is sin. We must repent and be true to our repentence. We must also walk in the light of Jesus Christ.
Oh yeah. Blasphemy onto the holy Spirit is the one and only greatest sin, that is unforgivable.

While I under no circumstance profess Christianity as my religion, from what I have read in the Scriptures & understand of G-d...there is no totem-poling of sin. It is all an offense in His eyes. If I offend in the smallest matter, I am guilty of all.
If I were you, I would look up the word "greater" in the Greek, or an Interlinear Bible.

A sin, is a sin, is a sin. No matter how you put it. God looks at it like that. Whether you have killed some one or you have lied to someone, he puts no value on sins. Thing that we must all remember that he forgives us no matter what the sin may be. He is not like man or the federal courts that puts a value on "sin".

sin is the disobedience of Gods law we all do sins only GOD can forgive it but we have to ask from HIM show him that we are really sorry for that and we will not do it again we will be forgiven the greatest sin is that if someone after doing sin dint fell ashamed and even deny that he has done sin every soul will bear its own sin so every soul is his own saviour there is no blame on others
