Why do Indians barbecue tarantulas for treats? Why do the Spanish put 7 ingredients together and name it 150 different meals?

They just do. They like it.

Sushi tastes better than any steak I've ever had, Americans eat more raw meat (steak tartare for instance) than the Japanese and as far as raw veggies - hmmm, I guess you don't eat lettuce, celery, carrots or peppers?

I would take sitting in a sushi restaurant with people gracefully picking up their sushi with chopstics than I would an American steakhouse full of people chewing big fatty wads of beef.

It's much more "civilized."

They don't eat hardly any raw meat, but they eat raw fish and cooked fish , same with veggies. I saw a news report saying that 13% of japanese women were overweight , to The U.S. average of 37% of women being overweight. Fish and veggies still sound bad? Please note: It was a topic on women , no men's statistics were shown at the time.

I keep thinking of that scene in Lord of the Rings. Gollum is talking to Sam-wise about the merits of eating his meat raw.
