Moreno means that you are brown skinned, dark haired. Usually there is confusion over the word Trigueño, and I tell my students el color del trigo es "rubio". (the color of wheat is golden) Thus here is the distinction. Black haired, dark skinned (tanned or darker) is a moreno.

"I am dark". Soy means "I am" and is in the form of "ser", so it is describing what you are, but on the other hand "Estoy moreno" also means "I am dark", but it is in the form of "estar", so it means like right at the moment and not necessarily what you are.

It means " I'm dark-haired". Literally, it could also mean "I'm dark-skinned", but it's not common.
