Because, it is easier for them to ignore all scientific evidence whenever they feel threatened. They've been doing it for centuries. They condemned Galileo, and they condemn homosexuals. They are the antithesis of scientific growth, because scientific growth limits the bases of their religion. It's clearly apparent that sexuality is not a choice. But their fear of science is what makes them ignore pure evidence and hide behind their bibles.

many christians believe that jesus christ is the only god and try to convince others to have faith in god.they always ignore what the psychological and psychriatic professions say abou sexual orientation.it is setteled view that sexual orientation is fixed at birth or very soon after, and long befoe puberty. The reputable medical and related journals no longer discuss the pros and cons of sexual orientation, regarding such discussion as irrelevant discrimination on a par with racial discrimination.

Somewhere around the mid 1980s, scientists really stopped studying homosexuality, to see if it could be treated or whatnot. I do think some homosexuals are born that way, the way some people are born blind, or deaf or anything that causes them to be different than "normal" but this isnt to say that people cannot BECOME blind, deaf, or homosexual later does it? As Im sure you have noticed there is a huge outbreak of homosexuality over the last 10 years... so much it is literally a fad in highschools. Do I think all these kids are actually gay? No, I think they have normal hormonal imbalances like most of us did in highschool but now people say "its ok to be gay" so they just stay that way.
Now, if a person is born with any other issue that makes them function differently than "normal", dont we all try and help them live as normally as possible? If there is a surgery to cure someones blindness, dont we encourage them to have it? If there is a medicine to cure someones dwarfism, dont we encourage them to take it? And what if the person refuses to help themselves live normally? If you knew a deaf person who could be cured with a simple surgery they refused to get because they "were born that way" how do you react?
I think people should consider this side instead of only the "accept it" or "get Jesus" sides.

The key word of your question is "some." Some part of every group is made up of people who are not so well informed and don't necessarily represent that group well. Some non-Christians ignore it too. As do some Muslims and some Hindus and some Buddhists and some atheists. Seems to me you're just using this as a forum to lecture rather than to ask an honest question.

God is a higher authority than researchers and professionals. The views of researchers changes, but God proclaims eternal truths. I don't know what causes people to be attracted to those of the same sex, but I do know that having sexual relations (either heterosexual or homosexual) outside of marriage between a man and a woman is wrong.

I think it's because they are so afraid of something they find "unnatural" or "evil" or an "abomination" that they refuse to accept that it is at all possible for a person to be born that way.
But if this God of theirs won't allow a person to be born gay, why on earth would he allow a person to be born mentally retarded or with any debilitating disease?
And another thing - why would anyone choose to be gay? It's like asking for people to hate you, for countless rights that you could otherwise have to be taken away.
Like I said before, the only reason I can come up with is that they're scared of something different.

Discalimer: I dont think this but have it on good Christian authority!
My best Friend is a Christian, as am I, but with dis-similar views. We recently had this conversation, for wich she asked her dad, a preacher.
From a Christian view point, It is IMPOSSIBLE for homosexuals to be born, because God would not CREATE an abomination, or sin. Men, through free will, would create that themselves.
Like I said, not me, but rather a common christain idea.

You want to know why Christian do not agree with homosexuality, then please look at the following versus.
"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination." Leviticus 18:22
"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:13
The Bible specifically condemns any act of homosexuality.

The wisdom of man, is foolishness toGod.
But for now, you can think what you want.
Seek the wisdom you aspire to. Live by it.
Above all don't be a hypo.

1 John 4: 3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of anti christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is in the world.
