If women are in Gods image ( genesis 1 ) then why are they so oppressed in the church and christian circles ? Something tells me that women arent little parasites made to serve men..... Why would God suppress His own image ? especially the prettier part ?
Im not kidding...Im serious....Is God bi polar and down on his feminine side ?

That is a good question. Acutally in the 'old days' women were revered and the higher speices. Then men used religion to take the upper hand. Christians deny that God supresses women, yet the Bible teaches submission and a woman wanting her man while he is busy with life (I forget how the verse words it). Deny all you want, and throw Prov 31 in my face all you want, I've read the rest and you are right!

The Bible says that "It is not good that man shall be alone", therefore, woman was made as a mate for the man. The Bible also states that a man should be the head of the household and men should also serve as elders of the church. It is the mans job to provide and care for his wife and children and the woman would be the gathers of grains, etc., and care for the children. It is mans job to love and honor his wife and she is to do the same. Woman was created to be a friend, help mate and companion for the man.

It wasn't until sin entered the picture that things changed. Not so that women are "little parasites" but so that men and women could work together for the betterment of not only their family, but the community as a whole. Communities in Biblical times were more like small towns today where neighbors help and work with each other.

If you feel that you are a little parasite or that you are oppressed, then something in your life is not right. Are you living with someone in sin or are you married? Do you set aside a time for daily prayer? Do you go to church on a regular basis or participate as a volunteer in a hospital, food bank, teach Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, make God an active part of your life? Does your partner show that he loves, cares and respects you as you do him?

These are just a few things in your life that you should look at.

I became very ill about 2 1/2 years ago and it caused great stress both emotionally and financially. Last autumn I had a heart to heart with my wonderful husband of 28 years. In my state of mind I figured if I moved out and we separated and divorced, he would be able to live more comfortably with less stress. His reply was that he loved me and he took his marriage vows very seriously and that included for better and worse, richer or poorer and in sickness and in health. At that time we were going through the worse time in our marriage, we could bearly manage mortgage and car payments so with all the meds our finances were a disaster. I will suffer from this sickness for the rest of my life unless the Lord heals me. But it all started with a prayer that was answered and I told the Lord that I couldn't handle it anymore and to take it (like it's said, be careful for what you ask).

I feel very fortunate to have my husband and I know that he feels the same, even though he doesn't say it very often.

The Lord has seen us through and we still struggle some but overall, our whole family is much happier.

Invite the Lord in and He will give you all the answers -- not necessarily at once as one must learn to crawl before walking. Let Him take control of your household and you just might be amazed as to what comes about.

God Bless you.

Please do not insult God. Man & Emperor Constantine ( a pagan)twisted the scriptures to seem to exclude women. Jesus last words on cross was to make John promise to care for Mary. He appeared after his resurrection to Mary Magdelene & two women. He assigned Mary Magdalene to tell the Apostles that He was risen & would come to them. Even his 1st miracle of water to wine was to please his mother. Oppression of women has never come from God.

Because men have dominated most institutions and won't allow women to have too much power.
