I don't want any model release problems, but I know I can't get every kid's parents' signature.

How do other professional photographers do it?

Go through the team or group the team is playing under. ie, little league etc. They will expect a portion of what ever you charge so build it into your price.

First of all you have to obtain permission for anyone that you want to sell a photo of...secondly if the individual is under 18 and is not emancipated from their parents it will require permission from the parents. Same rule applies to publishing photographs of anyone you need their permission before submitting the photographs for distribution. If you don't want to deal with model release problems then you will run into alot of problems. You would be better off just taking pictures of adults and hope they don't go off on ya. Good luck.

few options.. you can get there early and pass out some business cards or flyers to get the business. You can just ask the parents. Be prepared to have business cards so they dont think you are a wierdo. Plus as long as you are in a public place public park, on the street, etc. you can lawfully photograph anyone doing anything. But remember it has to be in a public area.as for professional events good luck with that i dont know that you can unless you are employed by a company that is hired to cover the event.I attend these events often and i carry my camera everywhere with me and i have never had a problem.

Every organized sport has an event coordinator. Present your ideas to them along with what you plan on doing. I photograph tons of soccer tournaments every year. The age group goes from teeny tiny to 18yr olds. As long as you go through the event coordinator, there will be no problems.

You have to get permission from the organizers of the sporting events. If they give you permission, you should GIVE the photographs to the parents, not try to profit from them. Are they going to end up on a porno website?

The easiest way would be to contract through the organization that represents the league, so in a sense you would be photographing for them.

I would ask the parents and the sponsors of the sporting events.
