Don't blow off your school work to have a good time. People who know what they want & what school they're going to go to, at 13, are feaks of nature. Very, very few people know what they want at your age. Keep your grades up, have a good time & keep your mind open to your options. There's still time left to decide. Trust me!

all this advice is useful now, but maily for in a few years... i'm going into junior year, and i just heavily started test prep and college seach last year. you've got some time before i think it will really become an issue.

don't put way too much thought into it- keep your eyes open for info about college but don't make it your priority

be organized- keep a binder with college and test prep info in it so you know where it's all at

be excited- i love getting college mail! it means someone thinks that i am intelligent or talented enough to want at their school

find a passion- get into something (art, band, sports, theatre) to focus on that will be fun and later on help you get scholarships

be a step above- get into honors, accelerated, or pre-AP courses. they look good and really give you the education you deserve.

at your age the most important thing is probably to focus on school work (once school starts again), because once you move into high school your GPA counts, and waiting till the last minute to bring it up is not the way to go.

Future is very important and should always be a part of your long term goals however life is to be enjoyed - simply put - be the best at whatever you do, enjoy each day as it is your last and slow down along the way to enjoy the simple things - you will be 33 before you know it - for me the important things inlife are the smallest things in the world! Be well

Its a great thing you are worried about your future at such a young age because you will most likely have a good one. But don't let it consume your life. Just don't let your grades go down and you should be fine. Just keep up the good work and don't fall into the wrong crowd. I wish I cared about my future when I was that young. i could be so much more then I am now.

No your not too young. When I was your age I had to write to this college and ask info about them and now i'm going to become a senior and they still send me things so its not too early to think about college. And to tell you the truth, i feel like i missed out on my college search and i'm not sure what college to attend. Just enjoy your time now because worrying about the future makes you later to regret all the times you missed out as a kid. Hope I helped.

It's never too early to start thinking about the future, but keep in mind it's also a good time to enjoy life before it gets TOO serious. Have some fun, behave yourself, and make good choices for yourself. Be loyal to your own ideas and concepts. Be loyal to your friends. Be kind, be charitable, and do something every DAY for your parents.
Have a wonderful life.
Next year something ELSE will start occupying your mind.

You can be an all around good student. Study, pay attention and do your homework. Join clubs and activities. Play a sport and/or an instument. You have plenty of time to worry about college. Just keep your grades up and enjoy being a kid.

Have a good time -- responsibly! Kepp your goals for your future in mind. At 13, you should just be making sure that you are doing well in school and are joining some worthwhile clubs and extracurricular activities. Have a good summer and don't worry too much!

It is important at your age to be aware the you DO have a future. Going to college will help solidify that Goal.

Going thru life is to live and learn. You will learn about yourself, on how you react to the human emotion of Love, Prejudice, jealousy, Happiness and etc.

Your body will grow, and you will learn about how to take care of yourself. You will also witness many events. So learn all these and aprpeciate them, before you leave the teenage life behind.

If you learn it will, you will be ahead of the rest of your peers.

Best wishes.

Right now, just concentrate on doing good in school, and when you get older you can worry about college. But if you don't do good in school in the next few years, it won't matter because you won't be able to get into college.
And remember this....sometimes you are asked to learn something that you think you will never need in the real world, but the MAIN reason you have to go to school is to LEARN HOW TO LEARN. You are training your brain to learn new skills.
That.... .is something your teachers will never tell you.
