I guess you meant "people from the United States of America", right? There are also people outside that country. Sorry to point at that, but even you (I mean... someone like you with that view about the war in Iraq [Is it a war? Did the Congress officially call it that way?]) seem to tend to think in a very centralized way. I know this is Yahoo answers, an American site and most of people here is from that country.. but...
About the hatred... just read those replays taking about French fries being harmful to their health. Come on! American fast food chains sell them! Those are not French companies.
Or that other answer about French selling weapons to Iraq. lol does the US have a similar industry?
I think some Americans hate the French because they have been conditioned for that. "If they are not with us, they are against us". And many weren't with them in this Iraq campaign.

As long as you speak politics, you will never be liked by some. It's not the French or the Americans that are disliked, it's the smug attitudes of both. I'm an American and I refuse to give someone fuel for the fire. What good is a cause when the cause does no good? Either way - someone will not like you're opinion.

I don't hate the French and I don't agree with your view. But then again, you were the one who threw it out for those to judge. Instead of focusing on getting people to believe what you do, focus on showing us what it is that makes your people beautiful. Art, Science, Wine, Language and a few others come to mind. - Un Ami Americain

I don't hate the french. I agree that it was not their war. Also, don't forget that the americans have done their share of selling arms in the middle east. Every country looks out for it's own political welfare which is pretty normal. The US did not enter WW2 until they were bombed at Pearl Harbour by Japan.
Just a little word for tazzz6413, you need to study your history a liitle more. France was the #1 country helping the USA during it's fight for independance, and historians even state that America would probably not have won their independance during the revolution if it would not have been for help from France.

The French. That is a LOT of people. Any generalization will fail.

But America went to war and France didn't. That's no reason to be angry with millions of people.

Americans will often say the French are rude. Americans get bent out of shape because the French don't like it when we go to their country and don't try to speak French. But Americans don't like it when Hispanics come to America and don't speak English. It's a tad hypocritical, no?

France is accused of supporting tyrants, but so is America.

France is socialist. For that they are called pigs. Socialism pursues equality and welfare. It's not really that bad.

ps. Everyone... fries are not French.

The French were selling arms to Iraq. It was a huge industry for them.

What help have they been in any war for 300 years? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't hate any French person. But let's not give their government credit that they don't deserve.

I think people don't like people who don't agree with them.

That's childish.

The French government had a different opinion about the war. That's their right.

There's no need to hate an ENTIRE people because of it. It's ridiculous.

Needless to say, I'm not a French hater. And I still eat French Fries.

I don't know. People just don't like others who don't agree with their opinion.

I think the French are good people. It is too bad that the war has caused tension between the French and the English speaking world.

LOL why do the French hate Americans so much? Why did Hitler initiate such a genocide? Why did terrorists attack and destroy the Twin Towers? Why are teenage girls stupid enough to think they won't get pregnant if they have sex? Why are people racist?

There are so many "why" questions people can ask, and every person will have a different answer they believe is right.

Do you talk about some people of a former French colony? Or people who think that everybody should know English? Some other category? I do not belong to any of them. I like the French.
