My girlfriend and i refrain from consuming alcoholic drinks but at a party, 16 hrs earlier, she had around 2 and quarter cans of beer. She had eaten some cereals before that. She threw up as soon as she took a sip from the third can. After that, no more beer was consumed. She ate something moderate and vomitted again after an hour of that. I got a medicine which was an antacid from ther chemist and gave it to her. She vomitted again but said she was feeling much better. However, she vomitted again 8 hrs back and then slept for 6-7 hrs. But even now she feels weak and a pain in the right part of her stomach, although she doesn't feel nauseatic. I don't know much about beer and hangover issues. Is she ok or should i take her to a doctor?

PS: She normally has a little beer, say a mug or two, once in 3 months but doesn't react like this.

I guess it could be a hangover but generally people do not get that drunk from 2 and 1/2 beers, esecially because beer is about 95% water, and dehydration is what gives you the hangover. Usually along with vomitting its also accompanied by a headache. Does she have that, and more importantly did she feel drunk at all before she started vomitting, because if she didnt, more than likely is a reaction to something in the beer (i.e. food poisoning), or she has some pre-existing condition. Make sure she doesn't have fever, because that could be indicitive of something else as well. Whatever the case, you should probably take her to the doctor just to be safe, especially if she's not feeling better.

With a hangover you usually have to just ride them out . It can take up to 24 hours for the affect of alcohol to leave your system. The best way to avoid a hangover is to leave the booze alone. Hangovers can be really bad depending on the person. I know one person who can drink 1 beer and get extremely drunk and have a bad hangover therefore he just don't drink. Hope she feels better and if not in a day or so go to the Doctor.

hangover is the bodies reaction to shock dehydration. alcohol replaces the water in your blood stream.
this causes the muscles to ache because they are not getting water (including the brain).

to cure a hangover before you go to bed drink a 16-24 oz bottle of water. put another bottle of water and/or gatoride/poweraide next to the bed to chug as soon as you wake up. if you wake up to pee during the night get a drink of water or juice before going back to bed each time.

in the morning take 2 tylenol & chug the other bottle of water - then follow up with a breakfast which includes juice or watery fruit like oranges, grapefruit or melon.

Umm. It depends if she was drinking different types of beer.

she could've gotten alcohol poisioning.

have her drink alot of water.

or for future episodes- drink lots of water afterword.

that pain might be her needing to pee?? cuz being drunk does that...
