we just bought a harness for our min pin, he has many collars but we wanted to try this, so do we leave it on him all the time? or Do we take it off him when he is in the house and only put it on him when we go outside to take him for a walk? Thanks.

I think as long as it doesn't bother him to leave it on then i would do just that. Leave it on and ifyou need to grab him in a hurry it is right there.

I have a min pin too and he got his collar stuck on something while I was at work. There was blood everywhere & he had chewed his collar in half to free himself from chocking. I NEVER put anything on him unless I am taking him for a walk. I have trained him so well that he doesn't pull when I walk him, he follows me. Min Pins are smart. You can train yours so you won't need to use the harness. Watch the DOG WHISPERER on TV, he will give you great tips.

You only use the harness when you're walking him on a leash. I have a pug mix and we use the harness on her during walks (because pugs tend to pull so much that they can choke themselves). She goes on walks with her collar and her harness, and when we get home, we take off the harness. We leave her collar on all the time for obvious safety reasons. So, yes, you're only going to want to use the harness when your dog in on a leash.

This is as actually safer than a flat collar. You can take it off while in the house. But when he is unsupervised, its a good idea to take it off. This prevents the strangling hazard that even harnesses can cause.

If i were you i wouldnt leave it on him all the time. I did this before and my dog chewed her harness off! So just put it on him when you take him for a walk.

You should remove it when in the house and replace it with a collar with his ID tags. Especially if it´s leather, I have seen some pretty bad injuries due to leaving them on, some requiering surgery.

for a while i would let him wear it all the time so that he gets used to it. so you wont have any trouble with him wearing it in the future
