Migrating? What are you a goose? If you apply for citizenship or the like Uncle Sam will find out.

No you do not have to tell the US government you're moving to Canada. Just apply to the Canadian government for permanent residence (a landed imigrant). This will be easy if your wife is Canadian. Apply for the correct Visa before you enter Canada.
After a few years you can apply for Canadian citizenship.
You will then be a dual citizen: a Canadian when your in Canada and an American when your in the US.
I suggest you hire a decent Canadian immigration lawyer. Immigration law can get very complicated.
I hope you have no criminal record in the US!
Good Luck!

A Canadian is an American with socialized medicine and no gun.

No, you don't have to notify them, other than, I suppose filing your tax return for the USA for the portion of the year that you lived and worked in the USA, perhaps.

Welcome! I am a USA born citizen who immigrated to Canada years ago and took out my Canadian citizenship 11 years later. It is very nice here! I live in British Columbia - wonder what part of Canada you are going to?

I feel you have the best of both worlds as a dual citizen - can freely come and go between both countries with no problems whatsoever at the customs either way. I love it!

Make sure you are coming to Canada properly, though, with a proper application for permanent residence - please don't try to do the "illegal" immigrant thing, okay?

Good luck to you!
