... if you take the 'text' our of 'context' you're left with a 'con'??!!

for all of you people who don't get it, i meant that if you just grab a bible verse out of no-where, without understanding the context, then you will be able to use the bible to say anything you like. I.E. you can use the bible as a con, if you choose not to understand the intention of the verse you quote.

all to many times on this site i see people quoteing hundreds of verses to back up some totally heretical idea and then saying 'told you so, even the bible says it'. my point is that if you take the text (the verse) out of its original context, you missunderstand the meaning and you are left conned into thinking something that is not true, and the bible does not say.
