I just wonder if we can neglect the "," here. But I see it in most of official names of companies.

Because there is more to the company name. If you neglect the comman...the company name may just look plain stupid.

We put the period after Co. because it is an abbreviation but we put the comma after the period in Co. because we want to give note that the company is limited (Ltd.).

Company and Limited are equal descriptors of "Smith Steel," and must have a comma between them, whether abbreviated or not. In the US, a Corporation is abbreviated "Corp." and is a limited-liability entity and does not require "Ltd." after it.

Co. is an abbreviation for Company or corporation. Usually put a period after an abbreviation.

co. is short for company. so if it is a company, you have to add co. after the name. it's just the way our language and world works!

the "." shows that it is an abbreviation, and not a word itself, or a typo.

Nope, you need the comma, just as you need it between "AlpineAlli" and "Esquire" in "AlpineAlli, Esq."
