You can take a boat, but it's a slow and often bumpy trip. You can paddle a boat -- there are regular outrigger canoe races between the islands and if you're a paddler, that's a super way to go. But the best way is to fly. It's quick (boat trips take a surprisingly long time. The islands aren't as close as they seem on a map) and it isn't that expensive. There are several airlines serving the islands, and you don't even need a reservation.
