I moved into an apartment with seafoam green bedroom walls. I can't paint. I have all dark wood. I have a duvet, that needs a breathable duvet cover. I also need curtains for the windows. I have a $150 budget for everything. Where can I A) buy a quality yet inexpensive set/peices that could match, or B) where can I buy cheap fabric for such? I live in Milwaukee, but could go as far as chicago or could shop online.

Most any of the fabric stores will have clearance and remnant areas at next to nothing prices. Walmart and department stores are good about having low cost fabric, but the width on the bolts is 36 - 45 inches. You would need the extra width of the upholstery and drapery fabrics so fewer seams would be visable. You might check on ebay or similar under upholstery and decorater fabric for sale. Many times upholstery shops and individuals will post items at the end of a season or to get rid of the end of a bolt. Carolina Mills used to have a factory outlet store in Branson, Mo. that always carried beautiful fabrics at very low cost. Good luck!

Rats-- I answered your question so well! and it disappeared!

Ok-- the short answer that isn't nearly as interesting!!!!
Dollar stores have sheets-- I got some in Queen size for $19.00 the set--a duvet cover is a giant pillow slip-- check out your friends for sewing knowledge-- might be a really good thing-- not quite a lost art but it's limping along!
I wish you good luck in your search--

Sometimes Walmart has inexpensive fabrics in the fabric department . You may have to dig but every now and then you find something worthwhile
