No.
It is a puppet state of the United States of America. The culture is Americanized, shopping malls, public places, and architecture are Americanized, everything is Americanized. The Filipino elite even look American. Language is Americanized. The government is, generally speaking, under America. The army is also Americanized.
It is even said that the Philippines is the '51st state' of the U.S, and the Philippines will never become truly independent until it throws off its excessive love of anything American.

The Philippines is really....NOT INDEPENDENT.....otherwise, WHY would 11 million Filipinos work ABROAD..under the AUSPICES and GENEROSITY...of foreign governments.

Remember, an INDEPENDENT country is NOT ONLY SOVEREIGN.....it is INDEPENDENT economically, it's people (workers) would NOT NEED to work under the JURISDICTION and GENEROSITY of foreign POWERS to feed their families and pay their bills.

You ask ANY FILIPINO......if he would like to go to AMERICA to work......IN A HEARTBEAT...he would say...YES.....NO DOUBT. He would PREFER to work in AMERICA....over any OTHER foreign country .....if the OPPORTUNITY presented itself.

And he doesn't have to be...or BEHAVE...as a puppet of the UNITED STATES......it's just that...in the U.S. opportunities ABOUND in FREE ENTERPRISE, and his RIGHTS are protected....UNDER U.S.LAWS.

Let's not include POLITICS in the need to earn a decent living.

Yeah, it is!

Only the commies and other Left-leaning people say it is not! Jesus! Communism is already dead in the Philippines. In a very short time, communism will fall in China and elsewhere in the world where communism is still present.
