and how do you feel about the following verse?
"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead." Deuteronomy 18:10,11 (NIV)

Divination is the practice of fortune telling and predicting the future.

I'm glad you brought this scripture out. It's very important. Divination is a practice that deals with spirit mediums, hence, it deals with Satan and his demons. Christians should have nothing to do with divination. God made it clear that we should stay away from it. Believe it or not, astrology is an act of divination.

Read this:

Acts 16:16 And it happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a certain servant girl with a spirit, a demon of divination, met us. She used to furnish her masters with much gain by practicing the art of prediction. 17 This [girl] kept following Paul and us and crying out with the words: “These men are slaves of the Most High God, who are publishing to YOU the way of salvation.” 18 This she kept doing for many days. Finally Paul got tired of it and turned and said to the spirit: “I order you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.

Divination is used to connect with your spirit, subconscious and/or the cosmos. The biggest misconception of divination is that it tells the future.

I think that verse is very contradictory. It says not to use witchcraft. Well, what exactly is witchcraft? It's simply setting energies into motion. And millions of people do it daily! When you wish on a star, or blow out a candle on a birthday cake ... prayer even is a form of witchcraft because it is simply putting energies into motion.

The Wikipedia link below will explain it better.

Divination is a form of magick where you divine the past present or future for yourself or others. You can use tools such as Tarot Cards, Runes, Candles, etc.

As for the Bible verse. I could care less what's in the Bible as I am not Christian.

Divination is playing around with magical practices, which is forbidden by God. I feel sad that this is such a strong trend in today's world.
