What type of duck should I raise?

Question

I might get a duck soon but dont no witch one to get. I want a petty quiet one that I wont have to kill and is easy to raise. I was thinking of a khaki campbell, a ruen, a mallard, or some type that is super cute.

I have a pet duck in my home, and know several people who do also. For starters, the males are the most quiet. They do not "quack" like the females do. They have a soft whispery voice. Do not get a Call Duck (which is a bantam duck), they are the loudest breed there is, and that's what they were bred for was to be loud. There is a breed you might enjoy called a Muscovy. sunnyshine gave you a good answer with one possible exception. The muscovy ducks are probably the world's ugliest duck. It is my experience also that the females are noisier than the males, at least the mallards are but the females are more socialable. The males are somewhat shy. I had the same pair come visit me for 5 years every spring until two years ago. We were good friends.

if you want someting super cute try getting some kind of bantam duck. first they are to small to kill and they are cute. if you want something quiet then u shoudl probablly get a male cuz they don't quack. only female ducks quack.
