Long leggs.. Crow
Gray feathers under or bottem with black on top or on the wings.. Humm.... Crow
Small eyes.. ... wow that sounds like a Crow.
All this and a baby.. Could be a Crow.

A Crow would make a great pet if you hand feed it and play with it daily. They are very smart and can even learn to open a lock.

You could be a lucky person and could be able to teach this little guy a lot of tricks.

Injoy your new friend. He will be a one person bird. He might bite everyone but you when he gets a little older.

Cockatoo???? Get real guys! Cockatoos are white...even the new blood feathers (sometimes peach, but rare). They are a parrot with a hooked beak and big eyes. The chances of finding a baby cockatoo outside are about 1 in a million...and for that to happen, you'll probably have to live on some tropical island that they naturally inhabit or next door to an irrisponsible cockatoo breeder. I'm sure what you have is some type of sparrow....something you see in your yard on a daily basis.

I would vote for grackle except the the bill has no yellow at all.

If it is a starling the tail will be rather short. The bill mostly black with maybe a touch of yellow at the base. The juvenile starlings are a brownish gray and the throat is somewhat whitish. It does have rather small eyes. Starlings are terrible birds. Give it back to your dog to play with.

Sounds to me like a baby Killdeer. They are long legged little guys. Almost look like they have stilts. Here is a link to a photo of one.

if u got it from outside then its probablly a grackel. i doubt its anything exotic seeing as most exotic birds are usually kept in a house.
