My parents want me to go to church. Our family was born and raised Catholic. I don't trust the lord anymore and I don't want to say why but why do my parents force me to do something I don't want to do? Sometimes I just go so that they'll be proud of me and that they won't be disappointed anymore at least with me on that area of life. I can't stand that they are always pushing me to go even though I have doubts about this religion of mine. I'm sorry if I offended anyone I just need serious advice on this. By the way, I'm an adult and they cannot force me legally to attend church if I refuse. My brother's friend doesn't go to church and he's a non practicing catholic. My bro SOMETIMES goes.

Also sometimes I think that they'll say that I'm immature just because I don't go or something to that sort to make me feel bad or scared of going to HEL/

If you don't want to go, don't. Going to church doesn't make you a better person! It's how you live you life and the values and morals you have that make you who you are. I don't go to church either and have no doubt that I live a good life.

I believe that no one should be forced to go to church. I'm not Catholic and I trust the lord, but I don't go to church and I wouldn't liked being forced to. I go sometimes, but I believe that I can love god just as much as any one who gos to church can. I don't really know if this will help, but I hoping that maybe something I said will.

Going to church to be around those who believe as you do is a great tool to help increase your faith in the Lord. You said that you no longer trust the Lord and for that I am sorry. I am not sure of the situation or what may have happened in the past that has robbed you of your faith but I suggest talking to a good christian friend or counselor, one that is strong in their faith and lives by it. Then, maybe he can pray with you and you can be delivered from whatever is hindering you. There may be some anger you have towards God for something but I assure that when your heart breaks, His does too. There are things that God allows to happen that we will never understand, but God is omniscient and he has a perfect design and purpose for everything. Whatever it is, bring your burden to the Lord. He loves you and will wrap His arms around you. And I love you too. I'll pray for you tonight.

If your an adult, you can make up your own mind to go to church or not. My suggestion is that you search out a church that you likee. As an Episcopalian (former Roman Catholic) I would lik-e to suggest the Episcopal Church in your community, Try it you might like it. Praying for you. Peace!

There's a difference in "encouraging" someone to attend church - and trying to force them. (I'm a Christian, and I do not agree with others trying to 'force religion' - that's not the answer)

Beliefs can't be forced.

I would 'encourage' you to reconsider Christian beliefs...however, that is between you and God.

I will pray for you though - that God reveals the correct solution to your problem. Maybe you need to explore some different denominations to find one that is suited to you.

Is it that you don't enjoy the Catholic Church or would it be any Church?
Perhaps you need to explore some on your own.
Also don't blame god for what happened it wasn't his fault.

If you're going and thinking about how much you hate being there, then you've already negated the fact that you're in church. Go with your whole being or don't go at all, what's the point?
