Christian women (or men) should not be dressing in such a way as to temp others sexually. The women don't have to wear head to toe burkahs as some Islamic women do..., just not tight or revealing clothes. Men need to avoid tight pants and shirts or clothes that require people to wear sunglasses within close proximity.

Even so - there are some people who will lust after women or men even if they were to walk around in a morgue body-bag.

This is not something you control. You are not responsible for the way that other people dress. This sounds like over-controlling behavior.

If you are dating or married to someone, you may ask her politely to wear something, but you cannot control other people -- nor should you want to. And you should never try to dictate what your girlfriend or wife wears anyway on the general principle of not wanting to be a buttinsky and busy-body.

Just worry about yourself. Let other people think, talk, dress and be the way they are. They don't need your help or advice, or your control. Other people are responsible for their own lives. They are responsible for their failures and successes.

The only reasonable time you can control the way someone else dresses is if you are a parent, and even then, children tend to assert their own choices pretty early. You just can't control anyone but yourself ultimately. People have a right to wear whatever they want to wear.

Good luck giving up control.

Cheers, K, whose belief is not defined by my clothes

I wish makeup had never been invented!! A woman looks MUCH better without a mask of phony chemicals on her. Plus that stuff tastes awful. I don't like anything that keeps me from kissing her face, her real face. As for clothes, I think modest and decent clothes are very becoming to a lady. And even modest clothes can be really sexy - what's important is who's wearing them!

If Christian women want to wear make-up or sexy clothes there is nothing stopping them. If they live in the United States then they have the freedom to wear whatever they want. That is the point of the sayings "free country" of "land of the free"

Women should dress modestly and have mercy on us men that are trying to live a Christian life.
I know that sounds like I'm placing the blame for men's weakness on women but I really don't mean to.

Christian women should not wear sexy clothes, they are supposed to be dressed modestly and not expose their bodies, but if you take that verse literally, it says that women are not supposed to wear jewely either. I think women can wear make-up in a way that can look natural. So think if women wear make-up that is not overdone, than yes, they can wear make-up.

Well, we women want a man to look like Antonio B. and have the body with great biceps, a 6-pack belly and long wavy black hair that will worship us as we should be ! It looks like you are coming out of the closet dude so be careful with the preacher man line.

That was only Timothy's opinion. He was not quoting anything he thought he had heard God say. I don't happen to think God mad any mistakes, if he hadn't wanted women to be so beautiful he wouldn't have made them that way. God is NOT a screw-up.

The bible, aside from its lack of veracity, was also written in a time of modesty that has long since changed. Many of the archaic values present at that time are not here today and it is not considered improper. Don't be so literal.

look at society today i think women should be aloud to do what they think is nessarary to further there cause .i think christians should take a look at themselves they put to much emphasis on old religous study. u should be aloud to worship god in your own way without the restraints of old christian idealogy.god will always love us for who and what we are not by how we worship him otherwise he would not have given us freewill.
