It got lost in a move and I need a new copy for selling .

You should have gotten a "pink slip" when you paid for the car. It is a bill of sale and a proof of taxes paid

For the benefit of the other posters here, "pink slip" is a common term for a car's title in some areas.

Go to the DMV or tag agency and see if they can do a "quick title". Not all states do this but it's worth asking. There's usually an extra fee for this, anywhere from $5.00 to $25.00. Normally they'll do it on the spot for you.

Go apply for a lost title. It probably won't arrive in a few days, but you don't have much choice, you can't sell the vehicle without it.

when you got your car they should have gave you a pink slip then to drive on till you got your reg papers to drive on.go to a notary and ask them about it,they should be able to tell you about it.
