I lived for 2 1/2 years in an apartment without a stove. I learned a lot about microwaving food, because I'm not much of a peanut butter and jelly girl. I do like to eat.

It's been probably 15 years since I lived there. My primary cooking method is probably still the microwave. I haven't noticed any ill-effects.

I should probably mention that I was 17 when my mom purchaced her first microwave. I did not grow up on microwaved food.

There was a thing awhile back about people who had pacemakers (little devices that help keep the heart beating in a good rhythem) and microwaves. There was one type of pacemaker that could be damaged by microwave radiation. This would cause the heart to beat irregularlly, which is a bad thing. But! It is not longer a concern because that style of pacemaker is no longer on the market and the people who had them have been upgraded to different types that are not damaged by microwave radiation.

I don't think that it leaves radiation in your food, but I know that it radiates microwaves which cause the food to heat up. So if you are standing close enough to the microwave, then some of the radiation will escape. But, I don't think its harmful, unless you put your fave against the front of the microwave everytime you heat something up.

microwaving food isn't dangerous to you, its only dangerous to your taste buds.. ha ha, micro waves attack the water in the food and only heats it up the rest of the food is rendered tastles( mostly) or rubbery... A microwave is good for heating up leftovers if done right. You "can" cook in a microwave, but it takes a lot more thought and skill than cooking on the stove

If you stand right at it while it is running it could be. Plus if you open the microwave up before the timer quits beaping it could be to. it could very well let radiation out into the air.

yes any kind of lean cuisine or Stauffers frozen foods that come in that black plastic container. That is cancer causing once heated in the microwave cause of radioactive elements that get into the food contents. Please throw that out, and place the food on a microwavable serving plate or bowl. that is the safest.

It is if you think of long terms effects. It has been linked to cancer. However it is not so dangerous that it would affect you immediately. It can also save lives as well by destroying harmful bacteria.

it's only supposed to cause cancer suppositly, if you stand in front of it for a long time, and it's supposed to be only for old microwaves, so i think you're pretty safe
