I am a student, i have been traveling along through the semester fine until recently and i got extensions. I only have this one assignment left and one exam after that. Usually you can just push yourself through these periods and i know i know the stuff i need to write for my assignment but for some reason i just can not get it together. It is like i physically can not do it, i just look at the page and the screen and i can not maintain the ideas in my head, i start writing but the point i was making just disapears from my head.
I am seeing a doctor, all blood test etc. have be fine
Whats wrong with me? i just want to get this last assignment done why can't I? It doesn't seem to be a matter of pushing myself, because i always do, i just sit there for ages and progress is either painfully slow or non-existent. Please Help..

uve not made up ur mind yet. U have to choose eirther being a good reader or a dull headed lad. U an force a cow to the stream, u cant force it to drink water. No bodys solution will do the work, its self determination and willingness to be an Efico.

Sounds similar to burn out which basically means you've not been allowing yourself any fun or socializing along with your studies. A human being isn't made like a machine that it can be programmed to perform certain functions indefinitely without a break, we overtax ourselves, overtax our brain-until when theres no respite and as you state you always push yourself and now you've reached an impasse where you are mentally overtired and you need rest. This does not mean an extended vacation but go to a movie for example. Going to a theater takes you away from the mental strain you're experiencing and at the same time recharging with different stimuli, recharging through enjoyment and you'll be mentally refreshed . Doesn't have to be a movie but anything that you do just for relaxation, fun, socialize with some friends-laugh. When I get terribly stressed I go to the mall and people watch while having a ice cream cone among other things. If this problem persists then you may have to get some counseling-go to your Student Health Center and tell of your difficulties and let an MD advise you for more than likely he or she has other patients with this problem. Good Luck

How long have you been a student? I am a college student, and I can remember when I first started out I had no problem concentrating in most of my classes, but now I have problems concentrating and getting assignments, etc., done. The problem with me is that I am getting burnt out on school, and I can't wait to be finished so I don't have so much to worry about.
You might also be pushing yourself too hard, too. Take 20-30 minutes a day to do something relaxing, like take a bubble bath, or whatever you find relaxing. Maybe take one day a week to go out and do something fun like go to a movie, or go swimming, get some sort of activity off the university campus. Believe me, sometimes, my apartment and the campus seem like a prison to me, especially when it seems like I do nothing but stress over school.

I had the same problem in college. I would totally, mentally fatigue my brain, and overload it with so much information that it seemed as if it could not possibly process anything else. The idea that you keep telling yourself that you can't do it can also contribute to the problem. Relax, tell yourself that you CAN do it, and make an outline. It doesn't all have to be done at once. Slow down and take your time. Neurologically? There are several disorders (ADHD for one) that are not diagnosed with blood work, etc. it is diagnosed through questions and meeting criterions.

Are you having test anxiety. Some students have serious problems with anxiety or will tend to procrastinate for fear of not succeeding. Perhaps there is a study center or counselor you can get help from. Check the resources at your school. Might be a good idea to discuss this with your health care provider. Best wishes.

Your having a block. You may have been pushing yourself to hard or too much at one time and your mind needs to refresh and cool off for a bit. Take a week off from studies. Go do someting fun, or if you have been doing something fun, then just stay home and get some sleep. Your mind will recharge itself after that. Focusing too hard on one thing only makes you more slow at doing it. Hope this helps you.

Take a couple of days off. A small mini vacation will give you a better outlook on your future. Then get in there and "GIT ER DONE". A little prize at the end might help too. After your exam go out and have a pizza with friends.Just do your best and GOOD LUCK!!!

There are certain types of learning disorders that can occur after you've turned 18 and many people think that if nothing is detected when you are a child that you're fine but you should see a psycologist instead of regular MDs.

Many of the symptoms you have described here sound like depression...Try getting screened for that. The medications for depression as well as anxiety have come a long way. There is hope.
