I would tell my parents that I would really like to have my eye brows waxed for graduation because I feel it is a very special day and an accomplishment. I would also make sure that if you have them done, do them at least 2 days before (if possible) so that if there is any redness, it will surely go away by graduation.

Well, they are going to be done by a professional, yes? I mean, you girls didn't buy a do-it-yourself kit, did you?

Assuming a professional is going to be at the wheel, I would suggest that she say that she just wants them cleaned up, that she does not want anything drastic. Perhaps she could suggest that her mother go with her so she could see for herself.

I'm a pretty strict Mom, but I wouldn't have a problem with my daughter getting her eyebrows waxed once she's a teen. Make sure you tell your friend, though, that rather like shaving, once you start, you need to continue, or they'll grow back even darker and thicker!

Tell her to tell her parents that she wants to go to the Salon and get pampered for her 8th Graduation. That's all she needs to say. If they want more info tell her to tell them that she wants to get her hair done or a make over. And while she is there that she just threw in the eyebrows as an extra last minute thing. That's sorta how I got my ears pierced at the age of 14. My aunt did it at her house and I never did ask my Mom if I could get it done cause I knew she would say no. So when she saw it I simply said "well, u didn't ever say I couldn't get it done." After all, she said my cousins were adorable. So she got stuck on it.

Are you talking about hair removal or getting your eyebrow peirced? Thats a whole different kettle of fish.

Why say anything. Just pluck them yourself. Always pluck the hairs UNDER your brow, Not on top. You should only pluck the few loose hairs on the top of the brow. This will keep your eyebrows nice and high. The shape will also be nicely defined. Keep them as long as your eye. Dont OVER pluck them, Just neaten them.

I would say, Just do it, dont tell them and see if they notice, they might not even notice, and when they finally do, just say, Oh yeah, I just neatened them up, they were too hairy. Simple as that. What harm does it do?

Use some baby teething gel on the area for pain relief, It helps a bit. Also wet the area down with hot (as hot as your skin can bare) water first, it opens the pores and makes it easier to remove the hair.

I would guess you are talking about getting them waxed...

Why don't you start by asking your mom (or other older female family member) to help you shape the eyebrows nicely with a pair of common tweezers.
1.) It's cheaper...
2.) Less painful...
3.) You might get a better response than asking parents to allow a waxing.

Good luck

Tell them it's such a small step to take in growing up, and if they don't like it, the eyebrows will grow back. I would rather something like eyebrows, than some of the other things kids get into. Her parents are actually lucky that that's all she is asking for,and they are VERY lucky that she asked permission.

Your friend should just sit down with her parents and talk to them. Tell them why she wants her eyebrows done. If they say no, then she'll just have to respect their wishes. She is rather young to be so concerned about her eyebrows! Focus more on education, and less on looks! She has plenty of time to deal with beauty issues in her teenage years.

well i don't know why they don't want you to but i would inform them that is not harmful but maybe you should just pluck them, instead of getting them waxed. But I'm guessing that they are not so bad, that you need to get them done that bad, and it would be easier to just deal with some slightly messy eyebrows for, like a two hour graduation instead of getting it done and really pissing of you parents. good luck, and happy graduation.

i just graduated from 8th grade on friday but tell u'r friend i said sorry *even though i didn't do anything. she doesn't have to get them done so their 2 cm. thick but she needs to get them to line up with her eyes and eye brows. I know girls that got their eyes done when they were ten Wasn't smart but that's not the point. getting her brows shapped and done won't kill her. and if she's going into high school looking like chewbacca from starwars then i promise u there will be preppy girls at school that will make fun of her till she rips them off herself.

get your eyebrows waxed??? hmm... I never knew parents were strict about that lol. I would suggest to your friend to talk to her parents about it. To your friend....Dont make it sound like threatening but just tell them that you would rather just go to a salon and pay 10-15$ to have it done then pluck them yourself and mess them up. Just tell them its something that makes you feel really self concious. Parents dont want you to feel bad about yourself so if you let them know that its really something that makes you uncomfortable they may be more ok with that.
