There's a woman who just moved in two doors down from me and she is, quite possibly, the worst neighbor I've ever had. She swears and screams at my friends for parking in "her spot" even though none of the residents have assigned spots. She screams at me when I take my dog out to use the bathroom and swears at me, she watches my fiance and I leave whenever we go to work or go out for the evening, etc. I've reported her to my property management team and they've done absolutely nothing about her. Will reporting her to the police do any good? Can they even speak to her about her behavior or will they just tell me that I have to deal with it?

Claficiation: I have informed the landlord and she becomes beligerent and vulgar whether my guests park infront of her apartment or at the opposite end of the building. It's almost as if she's just trying to make my friends feel like they're not allowed to visit or something. I honestly think she has mental health issues.

Start out by reporting her for disturbing the peace. Do it every time she starts screaming at you. If they won't come out and do anything about it, this is what you do. Go to the Police Dept during regular business hours and file a complaint regarding lack of response on your problem. Tell them that you feel threatened by this woman. Keep a journal of every time you call and everything she does. Write down dates and times for everything. After you have several calls down and several incidents recorded, go to your city or county courthouse and ask the clerk of court about filing for a protection order. A protection order says that she can no longer attempt to communicate with you in any way. She can still yell at your husband or guests, but not you. Once you are at that level, go to your apartment managers again with copies of all this information. Still can't get rid of her? Take your info to an attorney for civil matters. You may have a nice case for a lawsuit. You may also want to have your husband file for a protection order as well. Hopefully you get a good repsonse from the police and she starts getting tickets for disturbing the peace. Do you know her name? You can check with the county courthouse and get her criminal record if she has one. Check with them and see what they will charge you for the information. In my area it's ten dollars for anybody's info. Build up and save your evidence and you should see her going bye bye, before long. If I can be of any further assistance, let me know.

You should go back to the property manager and be a bit more firm about what you want. Something like.....I've lived here ?? years and I have never had a problem with anyone before this. The things I'm having to deal with from Mrs.?? is not acceptable because I pay rent here and I'm being harassed. I'm beginning to fear for my safety and the safety of my guests. I'm asking once again for you to resolve this before something serious happens. Then if nothing changes call the police so you have a report and you may unfortunately have to move.

same thing as pretty tini up there said but make sure if it comes to time to go to court you bring your police reports with you. also i guess the best thing to do is to not have ur friends park in her spot. that is something i am sure you can do to ease the situation. when u know that is especially what is going to get her fired up just avoid it. carry a tape recorder with you and present it to the management. there is always some one above whos ever head u were talking to. if u call the police and say she is harrassing you then they are obliged to do something about it. there is always a restraining order that can be put on her. you are allowed to do just that. if u say she threatened you then you are able to get a protective order which bars her from having any contact with you. good luck and remember tell her the next time she bothers you to leave you alone or you are calling the police. if she persues it then u let loose on the steps above.

Oh you can definetely call the police. Although she may not be breaking any law, the police are not always supposed to enforce laws, instead they are to maintain peace. This is a peace-maintanence situation. You should just let them know the situation and they can talk to her to calm her down and explain to her not to be harassing your friends/neighbors/family members that are visiting. It is your right to be able to go out, have people over, and do whatever just as long as you are not breaking the peace of anyone else, which seems to me that you are not.
Just ask the police to have a talk with her, the property management company will most likely not do anything about it because that may risk damage in the relationship they have with your "wicked" neighbor. I would just take care of it myself by talking to her, if that does not help, the call the police. good luck!

If the management isnt doing anything about it, yes, I would call the police. If nothing else, she is harassing you, and if she's yelling and screaming after either 9 or 10 pm, thats disturbing the peace. The police have to file a report every time they show up, so after a few times, she will have to move. Good luck.

You need to inform the landlord about this problem!!! Im sure you are not the only one she is annoying so if the landlord has multiple complants that should be enough to evict her. Talk to your neighbors about it. Police might come a few times and tell her to knock it off but that will just make her more hostile and they dont have authority to remove her from the building permanetly. Try your landlord first.

Well, if your landlord won't do anythign about her rude and bizarre behavior then you should tell the police. Because if this doens't stop then she can go to teh point of where she is physically hurting you or your guest. Plus, it'll go on her record, that'll teach her. That way if it goes as far as court then you'll have proof that her bahvior has been going on for some time.

Call the rental office and call the police. Each time she does it, call the rental office and call the police. After a few reports, take her to court for harassment.(providing the police don't do anything) You may very well be able to get a restraining order against her.

Good luck

It might be inconvenient, but see how much of her antics you can get on tape. Have your camera handy and film her; in the short term it'll bug her and possibly make her scream more, but you'll have evidence to show the property people.

Also, see if the other neighbors are having the same trouble with her. Power in numbers!

Call the police, multiple police reports will force management to respond to complaints, and provides documentation. Talk to your neighbors and ask them to do the same. Do you live in Plano Texas? Dose's she talk to her car? Maybe
it's her twin sister.
