What are insurgents and why are they fighting us soldiers and marines?

Insurgents is a term used to describe unconventional forces, also known as guerillas. These insurgents are seeking to expel us forces from Iraq, which many of them view as making war against Islam. Other have a more nationalistic outlook and just want the US out.

The insurgents are Iraqis and Muslim foreigners who do not want a democracy in Iraq. They are basically fighting in an attempt to terrorize the Iraqi people into allowing them to form a dictatorship with themselves in charge.

An insurgent is an irregular combatant used in guerrilla war as in the current conflict that is currently going on in Iraq and the war on terrorism. When you don't have the necessary man-power and/or equipment necessary to fight an enemy then this is the best way to do it.

an insurgent is a large sounding word for a rebel or a gunman they are the folks in a country trying to overthrow a regime or a occupier such as a foriegn army on their soil and we in iraq have made several religious groups into rebels and several political groups into insurgents

It all depends on who is using the term. One man's "Insurgent" is another man's "Freedom Fighter" or "Patriot".
Do you really believe that, during the Revolutional War, the British talked about what great "Freedom Fighters and Patriot's" the Americans were?

Insurgents are apolite term for terroist or murdering Islamic Fascists and they are fighting us because we are Americans like the attack on 9-11 because they want us to surrender to Islam which aint gonna happen because we will kill them all if need be.

insurgents are also known as freedom fighters. they are defending their land against amerikkkan terrorists also known as the u.s. military. wouldnt u be fighting if iraqis invaded usa? in this case, amerikkkans troops are definitely the bad guys.
