It is very possible. I didn't cut for 2 years and have recently. There has to be a "trigger" to get you started again. It's a very bad and inappropriate way to deal with emotional pain. Any kind of stress or trauma can trigger that response to cut again. I try very hard to find more healthy ways to deal with my stress, but it is easier said than done. Hopefully you can too.

Yes it is possible to start cutting even with the best therapy, figure out why you are hurting sooo bad on the inside and try to work on the problem, there is medication that can help if you dont feel comfortable in therapy , if you have a good or a close friend try to confide in them when you feel like cutting remember it is internal pain that seems soo intense the only way to releive it is to cut in order to bleed out the pain, Good luck to you My prayers are with you

yes, of course there is most likely an underlying reason for it
i did not cut for over a year and then started again, there have been times that i did not cut for months and then started again, and then sometimes just for weeks and then started again
unfortunately sometimes it is triggered more easier in some than others, but yes it can come and go and in different degrees too
