The purpose of any religion is to protect. each religion has evolved over different periods of time. the purpose of any religion is to help one co-exist peacefully without hurting someone else. The rules regulations are interpreted by different persons to suit their own needs, and hence conflicts arise.
All religions are good and should not be insulted or weighed as good or bad.

I am with ya, Gratvol, but it won't happen anytime soon. It's just human nature. :-/ I suspect SOME of those who "try to convert" are not very spiritually mature and may not fully understand the tenets of their religion--whatever religion it is. Just my personal opinion.
I am also of the opinion that those who enter a new religion tend to suffer from "europhoria" of having a new 'something' in their life, and wanting to share it......and oft in a rabid way. e.g. I got a iPod for xmas. At first, I was VERY excited about it and wanted to tell my friends I got an iPod. Then the novelty wore off. I think people who first enter a religion go through the same feeling. It does not matter what age the person is.

I can go along with this with no problem except as I see it we have something else going on. People of faith : protestants , catholics, jews, have been having friendly debate and discussions on Biblical issues for years and I'm sure that even muslims could join such debates in a friendly atmosphere. But what I've been seeing is the intolerance, hostility, and total lack of respect coming from atheists, agnostics, and the pseudo-scientific community, that has become a religion of it's own totally unwilling to participate in respectful dialogue.

I love what Carole and A Dizzle put. ^5 girls. as to the "can't they understand we ALL praise and worship GOD?" uh, hello. No we don't ALL do that. That's one of the problems right there. Assumptions lead to, well you know. learn that cute lil phrase in grammer school. As for the person who put ". But what I've been seeing is the intolerance, hostility, and total lack of respect coming from atheists, agnostics, and the pseudo-scientific community, that has become a religion of it's own totally unwilling to participate in respectful dialogue" , I've noticed the complete opposite. It's all about perception. Respectful dialogue is not some christian blessing me because in his/her eyes I'm sinfull, spouting of scriptures, calling people heathen bastards and dogs, and telling us we are going to "hell" because we do not accept the same belief system. Saying we are going to burn for our "wicked ways" and only your god can judge us??? how can a god that I do not believe in take my life and weigh it on scales of justice? That god can not if I do not accept it.
Agrees to disagree completely!

Honestly. The biggest tragedy is that all of earth's religions preach a message of love and hope and often the loudest proponents of those relgions speak without love or hope in their words. Let's stop arguing and trying to convert one another and spend that time instead spreading tolerance, global unity and get to work on helping society in general.

Your right! Everyone has their own opinion of everything. When it comes to religion people til this day are not willing to separate fact from fiction in what to believe in these days. That is way the devil came up with so many ways to fool people into believe in something else is my personal opinion but no one can force anyone to believe in any different religion. That is my belief.

I truly believe that God doe's His work in mysterious ways. And God makes Himself known in many different ways, in each culture. Nothing is impossible with God. If we could all come to terms with this idea, there would be less dissension among us. I agree with you completely my Jewish friend. The thing we all do the most is judging. The very thing that God forbids.

It doesn't make sense to expect people to "agree to disagree" when some of those people have a belief system that leads them to believe that others are trying to destroy their way of life. Abortion is an issue that is an example of this.

I agree with you. I hate how so many people force their religion down other peoples throats. Like the governemt shoves Christianity based laws down our throats. Gay marriage for example, not everyone in America is Christian/Catholic. So why impose a law based on a Christian belief? Live and Let Live.

I agree and that no one should be judged by their size, color, and race. I mean everyone is different and everyone is unique in their own way and God wants everyone to be friends and neighbors. Why should we have to judge because we see others differently. God is the one who judges. It's like you read my mind. Great question.

I am behind you 100%. Hope it happens, but it wont.
To bad people cant be more tolerant. If theyd hush up once in a while and listen instead of judging so quickly, they might leatn something.
