Someone with A- blood can donate to a person with A+ blood type. Both of your blood types are A (no problem there) and your blood is lacking the Rh factor (hence your blood is A-). Since you have the same blood type and you are lacking the Rh factor you have no problem donating to a person with A+ blood type.
And to correct wiserangel O- is the universal donor, O+ is the universal reciever.

Absolutely you can donate. The lack of Rh antigen, also known as D will not harm him in any way. The other way around is a no-no, but can even be used in the short term if absolutely necessary. Should someone receive D positive blood (via transfusion or trans-placentally), they will eventually develop antibodies, which makes the second transfusion of D positive (Rh positive) blood dangerous (why Rh neg moms only have problems with pregnancies after the first Rh positive baby).
In the US at least, the blood supply is amazingly safe, and donor blood is as clean or moreso than family members.

yes you can donate blood for your uncle, because of the negative you lack the antigen and it will not affect him, the only way the antigen will come into effect is if you were + and he was -. and the person above is wrong, o- is the universal donor if you give + blood to some one who is - they will have a bad reaction!!!! o+blood is the universal receiver not donor. Go ahead and donate blood and I hope your uncle gets better soon!!! good luck

You probably cannot donate because your blood is incompatible with your uncles. You need to find a Universal donor, that is, someone with O- blood. My best advice is to check with a hemotologist to be sure. I hope for the best for your Uncle.
Sincerely,
Cali

Yes, because the A antigen (blood type) is the same, and if he has the Rh factor (that's what the "+" means), your lacking it won't harm him if you donate to him.

My answer was wrong before, so I'm changing it. Yes, A- can give to A+ and the universal donors are O-.

I don't think so, but I'm not positive. I believe that he can only receive A+ or type O+.
