You don't have too. I pay my credit card off every month and six months later my credit increased automatically..
The secret about credit cards is that they want you to have the credit, but don't want you using it. It sounds silly, but so true. I have a credit card with 10,000 limit and I never use more than what I need so that I pay it off in one to two months. They love me so they increased it because I don't use it. If you use your credit limit and pay just the minimum payment...your doomed.
The secret to having a goods credit card is to use it wisely, but pay it off no more than three months after purchase. They want to make a little interest...so give them some and let them know you have all your credit limit intact and hardly ever use it and after three years of that....you're increase will be huge becasue they know you won't use it up. If you pay off your card early every month and save interest, your subject to get a letter like I did saying your card is cancelled. They made no money off me.

I recently asked Citi for a credit line increase and they gave me an additional 900. At the time I was paying more than the minimum due each month. If you call customer service on the phone, there's an option to request a credit line increase. Just choose that option.....)(

I pay my Capitol One bill more then my minimum balance each month, and because of that they sent an additional x amount of dollars on my card, just three months after, receiving it! Give them a "Jingle" and just ask, about an increase, on your limit. Alls they do is say, its not time "yet" or tell you what you need to do in order to get your wish granted. Good-Luck!

you mean a credit limit increase? well...ask your citi card representative to re evaluate your credit limit and ask for an increase in your limitation limits on the card. With any luck they might increase you...but 7 months really isn't that long to have had a ccard in your possession.

Citi automatically increases your credit limit when you make substantial payments to your balance. You could be better off waiting for them. If you ask for a credit limit increase, then they may be reluctant.
