ugh I hate dentist pain. I had braces, they didn't hurt too much. At first they will put in what they call spacers, they are mini rubber bands between your teeth. They feel like you got something stuck between your teeth and you do...rubberbands, lol. Those did hurt some when you'd chew but they aren't in long. The braces are next, they don't hurt when they put them on, it's just uncomfortable and you gotta get used to them. The feeling is kinda like if you pushed on your tooth firmly for a few minutes more of a pressure, that's what the braces are doing pushing and pulling on your teeth to move them slowly to another spot. Don't worry or be scared, it won't hurt, it's just uncomfortable the first few days until you get used to them.

I've had all kinds of dental problems, I'm a cancer survivor. I've had teeth die, abscess, break in half and trust me, braces are not bad at all.

they dont hurt that bad i just got mine off may 3 and my teeth are perfect now. just make sure you have wax so that if the metal part that holds the wire in place starts to poke your cheek. take some pain medication and you will be fine. make sure you tell them if anything is poking you and they will trim it from you. and after you get your rubber bands changed about every 8 weeks or so your teeth will feel a little sore. You will have to chop your food into small bite size peices so that your a chew it. and make sure you don't eat any of the foods that they say don't eat. they told me not to chew gum but my friends had braces and was chewing gum so i did and i got all caught in my wires and brackets. so good luck in a few years you will have beautiful teeth!

depends on how bad ur teeth are messed up. I have had my braces for 3 ears now and i get them off tomorrow..!..(yes)..it doesnt hurt it is just sore...like when u pull a muscle. but if u take tylenol or alive the soreness wil last for about 1 1/2 days without them, like 2 days???..but its not bad...before u go take 2 tylenols 30 minutes before your appointment and it shouldnt hurt bad at all...and eat smushy things the first few days too let your teeth get used to them

Don't worry about it too much. Just take some pain reliever the first day or two. It won't take long for you to get used to it. Also, if you're in a lot of pain, then there's a problem. Go back and have them checked.

At first they dont hurt but after a day or two they really hurt. Dont eat hard food because that kills your teeth.

they only hurt when they are put on or tightened but that only lasts for a couple of days... you should be scared... they aren't that bad ^.^ just remember no hard food the first few days and you'll be fine

that depends on the problem with your teeth. I used to have a huge overbite. I just took tylenol evry six/eight hours for the first day and i was fine.

they hurt for the first week at least when you eat food so pretty much the only food you can eat is soup or anything like that. unless you want to eat something very very slowly
