i live up north and it is sooooo hard to find a good pork bbq sandwich. the best pork bbq place i have found is the Hickory House in forest city, ar. why cant we get any good southern food up north!?

How would you like to make your own? I have an awesome Carolina Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich recipe here that you really outta try!
1 (6 to 7-pound) Boston butt, bone in
Black pepper
Crushed red pepper flakes
Sugar
BBQ sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Slowly smoke the Boston butt in an outdoor smoker until meat is cooked through and falling from the bone, about 10 to 12 hours. Remove the pork from the smoker and remove the bone and excess fat. Pull the meat apart with your hands.
Once pulled, add the black pepper, red pepper, sugar, and BBQ sauce to the meat, to taste. Boil the vinegar and pour over the meat and spices. Mix well.
Let the pork and BBQ mixture sit a few hours before serving for more flavorful meat.
** If you dont have a smoker, you can make one with your grill! just pack wet hickory chips in foil and poke holes in the foil... let heat and cook chips until package begins to smoke. Place meat on the cold side of the grill and allow to smoke for recommended time!!!

It is probably just because the recipes have not progressed up there.I don't know why it happens that way.The best Cajun food is in Louisiana.You can get it elsewhere,but not many places.It's the same kind of thing.If you want you can try making it yourself.Message me and I'll give you a recipe.I'll give it to anybody.It's just a pain to put all in here.

You answered your own question. Because you live up north!!! Here in Ga. you will find some of the best mainly homemade. its not the meat its in the sauce!!!
