Unclaimed money in whose name? is it your name? then the source of fund and you got the proof then claim it through the bank,ask the bank to have the Clarence of your income tax with effect to this remittance.that is all.

It would depend on where this "unclaimed money" is from... a will, the IRS ect. Each would be handled differently

I think that the state by law must publish all monies that are deserted in pubic records. Contact the state and ask them. It might be on the web sight. I know here in Texas once a year they post it in the paper, pages of names, I read it all the time, but never has my name been on it.
