It's because human nipples appear during pregnancy in the third or fourth week of development, well before the sex characteristics. So the nipples are there before you become a girl or a boy. But once you become a boy, they don't just fall off.
Note: Kilroymaster: Please name your source. From what I've read, no male of any kind, human or animal, has ever produced milk.

Ok all these answers are wrong lol. The reason why men have nipples it becuase we all start out as girls, honestly... here this is what I found on a website....
Although females have the mammary glands, we all start out in a similar way in the embryo. During development, the embryo follows a female template until about six weeks, when the male sex chromosome kicks in for a male embryo. The embryo then begins to develop all of its male characteristics. Men are thus left with nipples and also with some breast tissue.

This may sound absolute nuts but it the honest truth The men have nipples so that they too can nurse a child and their are several occasions where men have nursed Children when the women could not. all this is fully documented. Just do the reading and you will know that I am telling you the truth. what is also the truth is that no matter what race you come from we are all come from a common source.

They have nipples because they have breasts. Now just because their breasts are small doesn't mean a nipple shouldn't be there. The purpose if for a girlfriend to suck on.

The nipples develop before the fetus' sex characteristics emerge, so whichever sex the baby will be, the nipples are already there.

they say that all humans are girls before the dominant hormones that determine the sex of the child take over; so my guess is in case they become girls.
