Are there ever any exceptions to the enlistment age of 35 in the air national guard? I missed it by 4 months. I am really upset over that.

exceptians may be CONSIDERED only( no promises made) if you have a lot of experience in Legal or Medical fields and you can apply for a Direct Commission Officer slot.

But for general enlistment purposes, onlyif you have already served on Active Duty prior.. the years you served get subtracted from your current age to bring you under the maximum.

In the Guard! When I was in the guard the recruiter said that he could put in a 90 year old grandmother with a bad hip in the guard if he could get the state General to sign off on it.

Check in to getting a waver, the guard is your best bet, if not than the army raised the age to 39.

I don't know. Perhaps you could try talking to your recruiter again, and if that's not successful, try talking to your congressional representative. Also, look for officer commissioning programs -- they might not have this type of age limit. Good luck.
