Well according to the Bible skinny people are sinners too. All of us are sinners and sin attacks every area of life. All sin is a misuse of something that has been created good by God. Gluttony is an abuse of eating which is essential for life. Speaking is perfectly good, but it can be perverted into lying, gossip, slander. Alcohol is the base of over 80% of medications but drunkenness is a sin, Sexual activity is perfectly right within marriage but outside of it it is sin. The basic principle of sin is does it build up others or destroy them.

Your question cannot be answered totally in this venue, but if you want the entire truth send your e-mail question to www.revelation-nation.com, and I will explain in full.
Not all obesity is caused by overeating. With the introduction of the many chemicals injected into our foods and our air, peoples metabolic and genetic codes have undergone changes which resulted in low or high thyroid activity, and low energy levels.
The word "SIN' is an old world archery term meaning, "Missing the mark". The mark, being the "bullseye", and the area between the mark and where the arrow struck is the "sin". No matter how close to the mark or how far away, the distance has one definition, the Sin. God set a standard of lifestyle that is acceptable to Him, and does not compromise it. That lifestyle standard is the "Mark", and any deviation from that mark is "Sin", wheather it is gluttony or gossip, murder or ridicule, wrath or insult, greed or theft, pride or predjudice, envy or racism, lust or disrespect, sloth or indifference. Political correctness or social acceptability is not a solid standard that can be trusted, but God's standard cannot be bent, only broken. Sinners are all sizes and shapes, races, creeds, and colors. They go to barrooms, ballrooms, theaters, and churches. Man developed degrees of seriousness for sins, not God, to Him all sin is deadly.

If you are one to go directly by what the bible says, yes. People who are obese most of the time are eating too much and/or not burning it off. So they are actually guilty of two sins: gluttony and sloth.
I don't go for the "all sins are deadly" thing. If God puts overeating and child murder on the same 'sin' level. He is not any God I'd ever care to know.

Of course it is.

The body is (allegedly) the temple of God and anyone who defiles the temple is defiling God.

Fat people (absent a physical disorder) are as much a sinner as anyone else.

Additional comment:

There is a tv preacher in San Antonio who is the worst form of hypocrite I've ever seen, the fat rolls on his face when he talks, his clothes are size elephantine extra large and he has the audacity to stand on a pulpit and preach to others about "sin." I keep waiting for God to stoke him skinny, but no such luck.

His preacher son almost as fat, so it must run in the family.

Yes, gluttony is a sin, and fat people are sinners.

No hate mail, okay? My BFF is overweight, she weighs about 450, and she is also a strong Christian. She herself will tell you her weight, and her resistance and inability to stop her behavior that contributes is a sin, as gluttony is a sin.

Yes fat people are sinners acording to the Bible, it's more the lack of self-control and greed that are the sin in this case.

how do you figure that gluttony is one of the seven sins, and how do you know there are only seven? there are seven detestable things in God's sight, buth gluttony isn't one of them, and there are way more sins than just 7.

Your right Glutton is in the bible, it depends on if it is a health reason that make them fat, or it it is just eating to eat....Some people are fat because of Thryoid, and other illnesses???

That another question only God will be able to Judge your or not about...

Many fat people have underlying issues. Lets call those mitigating factors, and we have an understanding God. So I dont think he views these people as sinners.
