um... get to know him see if you really like him and he isn't just some pretty boy or whatever. or you can always ask his friends what he thinks of you and if they say he's into you 9 out of 10 he is and is shy about it. You ask him out, it not like unheard of for a girl to ask a guy out.

Talk to him. All my friends told my crush that I liked him and now we are really good friends. even if you don't go out being friends is better than nothing at all.
