There is a woman where I work whom nobody can stand who is leaving for a 2 month vacation and the rest of us have been secretly talking about throwing a party. This woman is one who constanly criticizes everyone telling them that it's not done right if it's not done her way or the way her mother taught her. She says, "My mother always says this or that" and "Every job I go to they always thank me for how much I know and how much I teach them" "these places have benefited from having me there". She is very annoying to have to listen to for 8 hrs a day. I have wondered if we are doing right or not by secretly calling each other and planning a "Carlita is not here!" party.

Go for it! Have a drink for me! God, I used to work with clods like that and I WISH I'd thought of having a party like that. Sounds like you and your co-workers will be in heaven for those 2 months, so may as well start it off right.

not only have i felt like it, but i have...

the last one that left, we even invited her to it. (though HER invitation said "going away party". no one else's did, tho. she never showed... HA!) maybe she felt the same about us as we did about her.

hey! here's an idea... all dress like her or when someone says something "carlita-ish" everyone has to drink. spread pictures of her around the party site, too. live it up, have a great carlita party!

HAHAHAHA you guys are a riot! I think it's ok, however some ppl may find it mean or crude, so the best thing to do is to keep that aspect of the party on the d-low- unless you aren't concerned about this. Have a great time!

Sure you can. I worked with a guy that, when he left the company, the going-away party was given AFTER he left!
