There is a site with some good info on how to become a citizen.

The child is a citizen through you, and/or being born in the US.

Your boyfriend does not become a citizen by having fathered the child.

If you marry him, he could apply for legal residency as the spouse of a US citizen. Visit the Department of State website: www.state.gov

I think it makes the baby a citizen and lets the mother some leeway in taking care of the baby who is legal in the US.

no, but it does make the child a citizen. The parent still has to apply for residency and get a green card.

no. that is a common misconception, baby or no,they will deport him if and when they catch him. however, it would make it easier for him to get his permanant resident alien status, draw back is,he has to be in mexico or whatever his country is,while the paperwork is done. if he gets caught over here in the us,he will be deported and cannot try to get his papers for ten years. if he gets caught over here during that time, it is 2 years in prison in his country, and his chances of getting his papers is none.if he gets caught before you start the paperwork ,his chances are less.

Only if he marries you (assuming you are a citizen). Then he can apply for a green card, making him eligible to work.

File for a spouse visa and go about it in a legal way

no but it will be a little easier for the parents to get green cards and less likely for ins to deport the parents.
